You've got to see Sedona.
Recently I visited Sedona as part of a girls trip. We rented a beautiful AirBNB, hiked massive red rocks and vortexes, meditated, connected with incredible people, hiked from sunrise to sunset each day, visited a couple wonders of the world etc…A few of my highlights from the trip are below. You’ve got to see Sedona!
Vortex:
Sedona vortexes are swirling centers of energy that are conducive to healing, meditation and self-exploration. These are places where the earth seems especially alive with energy. People feel inspired, recharged and uplifted after visiting a vortex. Perhaps it was the jaw dropping beauty of nature, new connections with old friends or the swirling energy alive in me…whatever it was, I felt a shift and I’m grateful for it.
Although all of Sedona is considered to be a vortex, there are specific sites where the energy is most intensely. The four best known Sedona vortexes are found at Airport Mesa, Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and Boynton Canyon—each radiating its own particular energy. We hiked Cathedral Rock at sunrise and were all very moved by the experience. We were mostly alone on the trail and were rewarded with a beautiful 360 degree view of the magnificent sun rising over the rocks of Sedona.
Guided Hike and Sunset Yoga:
Sedona's spectacular red rock country is characterized by sandstone towers, soaring buttes, deep canyons, spring-fed creeks, fascinating Pioneer and Native American history, and a plethora of phenomenal hiking opportunities. Hiring a guide to help us navigate and better understand the landscape was another highlight of my trip.
Our guide Karen (karen@yogawithheart.com) was a wonderful resource and took us on a hike I didn’t even have on my radar. More popular with locals than tourists, it offered a moderate hike along Little Horse Trail and a breathtaking view at the top of Chicken Point. We brought yoga mats (supplied by Karen) and were lead through a very soulful yoga practice, connecting in with nature and ourselves. We ended our 4 hour session together with playful Acro yoga poses and a beautiful guided meditation at sunset. I was moved beyond words and am so grateful for this experience with Karen and my dearest friends.
Wonders of the World:
Sedona has some incredible hikes, rocks and endless nature to explore locally. If you are staying longer than a few days, Sedona is in close proximity to some fairly incredible wonders of the world. The Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Volcanos etc…and the drive to your destination is almost as spectacular as the sites themselves. You could hear regular shrieks of joy from our car as we rounded the windy roads and were met with magnificent landscape. We decided to drive to Antelope Canyon (3 hours from Sedona) and were wildly rewarded with a spectacular experience. Right around the corner from Antelope is Horseshoe Bend which is also worth seeing if you are in the area.
